The Edge

We all know what happened during the GP of Singapore. Lewis Hamilton hit the car of Felipe Massa, causing Massa a puncture, and Lewis himself a damaged frontwing. Hamilton got penalty from the collision. And it was the right decision from the stewards. Massa himself was fruistrated about somebody again ruining his race. And actually it's 3rd time this season when Hamilton hits Massa. Massa wanted to have a talk with Hamilton after the race, and called Hamilton by name two times to have a talk about the situation. Hamilton ignored Massa and didn't even give him a single look and walking away. So after this all Massa got more annoyed and disturbed Hamilton's interview by giving him a small slap and saying: "Good job".

I see nothing wrong on what Massa did. He wanted to have a talk but Lewis wasn't listening to him. I know how annoying it is when you've got something to say and nobody listens to you. Felipe wanted to chat about what happened. Later, Hamilton says he still respects Massa. But why can't he say it in front of Massa's eyes? Hamilton have apologized from many drivers this season and most of time, through the Internet.

It's hard to understand what's wrong with Lewis. I also can see it from how the drivers behave. If you look back to 2007 and 2008, you can see lot of photos with Lewis and Felipe joking together. Even at 2008 even they had a close fight for championship. This year? I can't rember that I have seen one. Maybe single ones, but not many.

Hamilton has been always very aggressive, and made some mistakes earlier his career too, but this season it has gone too far. He causes accidents almost every race. I think he is under pressure, because his team mate Jenson Button has been a great challenger and in fact, sensational this season, specially on hard weather conditions. Lewis didn't have problem to fight with Fernando Alonso. Heikki Kovalainen was most of time slower than him. Then Jenson joined the team and were maybe stronger than Lewis expected after couple years being a clear number one driver on the team. Also, his father Anthony Hamilton is not his manager anymore. I think that might have caused the aggressiveness. Everything is not allright inside the family and we can see it from the way how Lewis behaves and what he does on the track. He has a big need to show something. Show that he can win without his father and be strong. It isn't that easy. Actually it feels strange to see Anthony Hamilton in Force India's pit instead of McLaren. Anthony Hamilton has now focused on managing Paul di Resta instead of his own son.

Outside it's hard to read what's really going on. Of course every driver has their ups and downs. That happens in life normally. This talk could be endless. Only Hamilton himself knows really what's going on. He needs to calm down and take easy. We all know he belongs to the best drivers of the World, he has proven it for us already. Maybe he needs something new? Jenson Button is, if you ask from me, the bigger star on McLaren now. We all remember his great jobs this season. And on Lewis's side, we remember... his collisions. Something needs to be changed.

Of course it's great to see Hamilton wants to try, he wants to overtake and make the action on track. But has crossed the line. The line is when you are aggressive, but you can still handle it. Accidents are very normal in F1, but not like one man has been part of so many of them. Soon he makes record of most penalties per season or something.

Styles of McLaren drivers are so different. Button knows what's intelligent, he uses his brains and he can read the race perfectly during driving. He knows what he can do. And Hamilton's style? Aggressive rush, which sadly causes collisions.

Lewis Hamilton needs to find the edge and not go too far from it and fall down.
